Flying in a hot-air-balloon is an exquisite feeling anywhere in the world.
But flying in Cappadocia is actually a privilege.
The sort of flights we do here can not be done anywhere else in the whole world.
All you can do with a hot air balloon is to make it go Up or down,
and make the balloon rotate around itself.
Therefore the balloon is totally dependent on the prevailing wind
and goes where the wind takes it. Here in Cappadocia we fly within the valleys
and around the fairy chimneys, very close to the ground,
and the flights are so perfect,one would think that the balloon actually had steering facilities.
But the explanation is rather simple.
Cappadocia being in the middle of what is known as continental climate,
there is a great difference of temperature between night and day.
During the night, there accumulates a mass of cold air within the valleys.
This mass begins to flow just like a river around sunrise time.
It is thanks to this reliable flow that we manage to perform the astonishing flights that
we do almost every day of the year.
Naturally this has a lot to do with the skill of our pilots, but without the flow,
this sort of flight would not be possible.
This also is the reason why we fly only and only around sunrise time, because later on,
the conditions are not so reliable any more.

On our flights, well travel anywhere from 2 to 15 miles depending on the wind speed
and directions we encounter flying at various altitudes. During the flight the pilot will
vary the balloons altitude from tree top level, a height that allows one to reach out and
commune with nature, to heights of several thousand feet, where one may look out in a visual sweep,
and see much of Cappadocia.
Whatever the altitude, lighter-than-air-flight offers a truly unique flying experience.
STANDARD FLIGHT
We collect our passengers from their hotels roughly one hour before sunrise and
we bring them to our base, and serve tea, coffee and cookies, as the passengers meet.
Then we go to our take off field designated for that day. The balloon will be ready and waiting for you.
Following a safety briefing from your pilot, we climb into the baskets and take off.
During the flight we rise to altitudes of several hundred meters to give you a good view of all that
there is around,but what we do mostly is drift through the valleys and canyons and around
the fairy chimneys, performing contour flying.
This sort of balloon flight is possible only in Cappadocia in the whole world.
The actual flight time is between 60 to 75 minutes.
On landing, we have a traditional celebration party with some champagne and cakes,
and we give every passenger a commemorative flight certificate written to their names.
Then we bring our guests back to their hotels.
The whole excursion takes about 3 hours from pick up to drop off.
Therefore if the passengers wish to go on a sightseeing tour during the day,
they are back in time to join the tour.
• There is a discount of 50% for children between 6 and 12.
We are not eager to accept children younger than 6,because they have a tendency to get scared
or bored once airborne which makes things very uncomfortable for everyone.
